Policy of this experiment was same as the others (see
physical base of experiments).
We have coloured the water with few grains of potassium
permanganate, KMnO4. This was used to effectively demonstrate properties of
floating in the liquid. Features of the water were not changed (we gave
KMnO4 there after the measured experiment - it was coloured only for better
visibility in the photos). Warming up the 2 liters of pure water took 8
minutes. That was also enough time for our experiment to start bubbling.
The temperature differences in the beginning were big but they started to
decrease during the experiment. The water was chosen because it is liquid
with many known and predictable properties. From final
screenshot you may see the whole course of the heating of the water. We
expected similar results after we read literature and saw similar projects.
