Experiment with Crude Paraffin
During this experiment we were observing the features of crude paraffin.
Paraffin was in the grain form. We put as many grains as possible into the
measuring cylinder to have 2 liters of a saturated solution after
warming up. There were no other
measurable external influences. We expected temperature "jumps" and big
differences. We were also observing solidifying of the paraffin. There were
temperature jumps that were comparatively large, which is explained by
structure of paraffin, an amorphous material. During the solidifying there
were no similar "temperature jumps" after similar time. The crude paraffin
started to be stiff in temperature around 55 oC without external extensions.
